The system is designed to handle business direct from clients and business received from insurance broker. The system can also manage inward facultative reinsurance.
PARIS - A multi currency system
The system handles premiums, claims and payments in different currencies, and has the currency dimension and calculations to local or any other currency as a central focus in all reporting. The system can keep track of daily exchange rates.
PARIS - A multi language system
Documents to clients can be produced in any of the Latin alphabet languages. The internal user interfaces (screens / panels) and "in house" reporting are in English. All documents produced to insurers are produced in English.
PARIS - Flexible document production
All documents as policies, invoices, reminders, bordereau to insurers, statements of accounts etc. is produced from NTC (NORIA text component). This component is giving basic word-processing functionalities as found in other Word processors. Powerful macro-functionality integrates NTC with the Paris databases giving the user a simple way of creating documents that are merged with Paris data.
PARIS - Built on a well-proven data model
The PARIS data model is designed to handle the most complex data structure in the insurance business, such as marine, energy and cargo. PARIS can easily be adapted to implement new less complex branches into the system. PARIS's object orientation allows specific client data and functions to be duplicated and used in all the different insurances branches included in the system. All data is real-time updated, thus giving a greater advantage when combining data across multiple locations into a single, integrated system.
PARIS - User interfaces may be designed without programming
User Interfaces (panels) for data input and output may be created or changed "on site" without any programming at all. The client may design different panels for different types of insurance brances.
PARIS - Incorporated archive system (within the database)
Documents produced by PARIS are stored in an internal archive system and can easily be retrieved by search keys. The search keys available are; receiver, agreement name and number, claim number, object name and number, created by and date etc. The PARIS archive can also be used for storing any other file, as MS Word documents, MS Excel files etc. under it's "right tag" in the data model. This way it is possible to store all kind of related documentation claim, or an insurance agreement etc. Stored documents can be retrieved by its origin tool (i.e .doc files by Word, .xls files by Excel) and stored back to the archive in a new version.
PARIS - Security administration
Logging on to system also gives access to the database. The system inherits the security of the database that is operating within the PARIS system. There are also extra restrictions added for the different types of functions both on operator and group level.
PARIS - Logs all changes
Changes made in the database may be logged together with an identification of the operator and the time of the operation. The client determines which tables are relevant for logging.
PARIS - Field oriented help function
In addition to normal Help functions on the menu bar, PARIS has a field level help function. This function consists of both general system and client maintained information. Through this the client has the possibility to describe his specific rules or business process.
PARIS - Process scheduler
When the operator starts a printing process (or another heavy process), the workstation will usually be locked until the process has completed. With PARIS it is possible, to set an alternate printing time or handle the processing to another server in the network. This way, the operator immediate has his workstation available for continuation work. The Process scheduler is also used for setup of regularly processed workflows like "daily batches", "weekly reports" etc.
PARIS - Quick Report - embedded report system
In addition to a large number of fixed reports, PARIS also has a report-generating tool. By using the Quick Report tool, reports can easily be created by the operator. Through prepared views against the database and nearly 1000 different formulas, the data structure is presented for the user in a simple way. The reports can then be generated based on simple guidelines. The output can be printed to a printer, to a pdf-file or a spreadsheet format like MS Excel.
PARIS - An online system
Paris is an online system where all date are update in real time without batch processes.
